Stikis Page
The ‘Stikis Page’ page displays all of the stikis on one of your pages. The page should look like the picture below.
On the left side of the page is a menu where you can create new stikis, choose their color, or delete existing stikis. Across the top of the screen is another menu with buttons to open the page in a new window, change the zoom of the page, and the standard stikis navigation links. In the main part of the screen is where your stikis are displayed. You can click on these to move them around and change their sizes.
Moving around the page
The page is quite big, 5462px wide and 3863px high at the default zoom – so there is plenty of room for stikis. However, this also means that you need an easy way to move around on the page. You can click and drag anywhere on the background of the page to pan it horizontally or vertically. Alternatively, you can use press the Shift key and then press any of your keyboard arrow keys to pan in that direction.
Zooming the page
You can also change the zoom of the page, either by using the magnifying-glass buttons at the top of the screen (see above) or by scrolling with your mouse-wheel if you have one.

Between the zoom buttons at the top of the screen you should be able to see a number showing what the current zoom of the page is. The following two images show the screen at two different zooms levels. The one on the left is zoomed to 8% and the one on the right is zoomed to 160%

When you change the zoom, a red target rectangle will appear on the screen to show you where the zoom is focussed on. If you use the buttons, this will be the center of the screen, but if you use the scroll-wheel of the mouse, this will be where-ever the mouse cursor currently is. The target rectangle should disappear when the zooming finishes.
Open page in a new window
If you would like to use your stiki page in a browser window without any extra buttons or menus, click the ‘New window’ link.
Selecting stikis
When you click on a stiki on your page, a pink halo will appear around the stiki to show that it is selected. Once you have selected a stiki like this, you can change its size, color, or the text inside it (see the sections below). You can clear a selection by clicking on the background of the page, or click on a new stiki to start a new selection.
In addition to the pink halo, you should see two icons appear around the stiki as shown in the following picture. The icon of a pencil at the top-left of the stiki lets you edit the text inside the stiki. The icon at the bottom-right corner of the stiki lets you change its size.

Selecting more than one stiki
You can select more than one stiki at a time by holding down the CTL key (Apple key on a Macintosh) and drawing a square around all the stikis you want to select. The following image shows what it looks like when you draw a square to select stikis. The cursor should change to a crosshair and a dotted square will be shown to indicate what will be selected. The picture below shows the square still being drawn. Once you release the mouse button any stikis that the square overlaps will be selected. In the case of the picture below, all three stikis will be selected.

Another way to select more than one stiki is to hold down the CTL key (Command key on a Macintosh) and click extra stikis one by one. This will add the stikis you click on to the current selection, or if the stiki you click on is already selected, it will be removed from the current selection.
Moving stikis
You can move stikis around on the page by clicking and dragging them. If you have more than one stiki selected, then all of the selected stikis will move together. In addition to being able to move stikis with the mouse, you can hold down the CTL key (Macintosh also) and press the arrow keys on your keyboard to move by a big amount, or just the arrow keys to move by a small amount.
Chucking stikis to the edge
You can ‘chuck’ stikis to the edge of your page by selecting them and then pressing CTL+Shift and the arrow key pointing to the side where you want to send them. This is useful to quickly move a stiki that you’ve finished with out of the way but don’t want to delete yet.
Changing size of stikis
To change the size of a stiki, first select it and then click and drag the icon
that appears at the bottom-right corner of the stiki
(
).
A dotted square will appear to show what the size of the stiki will be. When you
are happy with the size, release the mouse button and the stiki will change. The
following two images show this process.

Editing stiki text
To change the text that’s displayed in a stiki, first select it and then click
the icon that appears at the top-right corner of the stiki
(
). The screen will change to an editing view
and you will see the text of the stiki in a white text field in the middle of
the screen as shown in the picture below. Click and type in this area to change
the stiki text.

There are buttons to make selected text bold or italic as shown in the picture below. The ‘B’ makes selected text bold. The ‘I’ makes selected text italic. The other button will save the contents and return to the stiki.

- Tip: You can also use standard keyboard shortcuts such as CTL-C to copy, and CTL-V to paste text. This means that you can paste text in from other web-pages, or programs.
- Tip: In Firefox, you can double-click a stiki to open it for editing (but this doesn’t work in Internet Explorer).
Changing color of stikis
On the left side of the page, beneath the new stiki button (see below) are five small colored squares. If you click on one of these squares, then any currently selected stikis will have their color changed to match. Also, the new stiki button color will change, meaning that new stikis will be created with the color that you choose, rather than the default color. The image below shows someone clicking on the green square.

Creating stikis
On the left side of the page there is a link labeled ‘New stiki’ that you can use to create new stikis on the page. Beneath this link is a button (it looks like a square) that you can also click to create a new stiki. When you click either the link or the button, a new stiki will appear in the middle of the page. Additionally, you can press CTL+V (same on a Macintosh) instead of clicking with the mouse. The following image shows a stiki in the process of being created and how the button changes to match the currently selected stiki.

The button shows the color and the shape of the stiki that will be created. By default, it is a square khaki stiki, but if you change choose a different color, or click on a stiki with a different color and shape the button will change to match your choice. This is a convenient way of creating multiple stikis with the same size and color. Just select a stiki that has the same size and color that you want and you can click the new stiki button to create as many copies as you need.
Deleting stikis
To delete currently selected stikis, click the link on the left of the page labeled ‘Delete stikis’ beneath the color squares. Next to the link is an icon of an ‘X’, which you can also click. The following image shows what these look like.

Note: Stikis does not have an undo function yet. So if you delete some stikis they will really be deleted. Forever.
Navigation
The easiest way to find a particular page is to go to your list of pages and click the page you want from the list of pages displayed there. Each stikis page has its own address, which you can bookmark. The address will be something like stikis.com/pages/id, but with a number instead of ‘id’.
At the top-right of each stikis page are the standard stikis navigation links. These will vary depending on whether you are logged in as a local user or an OpenID user. See the navigation links help topic for more information.
