About The Creator of Stikis

I’m Jared Donovan, the creator of stikis.com. When I’m not working on stikis, I’m finishing my PhD in Interaction Design at the University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia. My PhD thesis is about finding better ways of designing gesture interfaces. If you’re interested in finding out more (poor fool), check my research page for more information.

I now work at the SPIRE Centre for participatory innovation, in Sonderborg, Denmark.

Why Stikis?

I wanted a way of putting down ideas where I didn’t always know how they fitted together. In my research, I use a lot of paper sticky notes, so I thought something similar that was on the web might be useful. Stikis.com has also been an enjoyable diversion from my thesis and a way to learn a bit more about javascript, html, ruby on rails, and openid. As you can see, stikis.com is fully buzzword compliant.
